Parbook Golf ("Parbook", "we") is a golf app for tracking rounds, stats and leagues, and for sharing them with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Account. Your email address (to send sign-in codes), your name and @handle, and, if you add one, a phone number. We store only a one-way hash of the phone number, used to match you with friends who have you in their contacts.
Rounds and golf data. Scores, putts, fairways, penalties, the clubs in your bag, your handicap settings, and, when you use shot tracking, where each shot started and finished on the course.
Location. While a round is in progress, the app uses your phone's location to show yardages and detect shots. We save shot positions with the round. We don't track your location outside of a round.
Contacts (optional). If you choose to find friends from your contacts, phone numbers are hashed on your phone and only the hashes are sent for matching. We don't store your address book.
Social. Friend requests, friendships, and the messages you send in chats.
Leagues and events. The leagues and events you join, and the scores you post to them.
GHIN (optional). If you enter a GHIN number, we use it to look up your handicap index.
To run the app: sign you in, save your rounds, calculate stats and handicaps, show your rounds to the people you choose, deliver messages, and run leagues. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
When you use the caddy or the round analyst, the round details needed for the answer (such as scores, clubs and distances; never your email or phone) are sent to an AI provider (Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude) to write the response.
Rounds are visible to your friends by default. You can make any round private, or change the default in Account and privacy. Other players can find you by your name or @handle. Messages are visible to the people in that chat. League scores are visible to that league.
Your data is stored on servers run by our hosting provider (Railway), and sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in codes are sent by email through our email provider.
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me → Account and privacy → Delete account). That deletes your rounds, stats, friends, direct messages and profile. Scores you posted to a league stay with that league, no longer linked to you.
Parbook isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
